Alex has over 22 years of industry experience and is widely regarded as a leading expert in the field of estimation services. He has also contributed his skills and experience as a trainer in estimating industry. With a firm grasp on all the software used in estimations, including Bluebeam, Planswift, RS Means, Trimble, Cost Works, FastPIPE, Xactimate, FastDUCT, and Quest Estimating, Alex is able to deliver the most accurate and comprehensive estimates for his clients.

As a true professional, Alex always follows the industry standards set forth by organizations such as RICS, AACE, and ASPE to ensure that BuildQuant Professional delivers only the best quality services to its clients. Alex’s passion for estimation services started early in his life at the young age of 20 when he took over the family business from his father, William James. His father had initiated his career as a freelance before founding BuildQuant Professional in Virginia in 1995.

Alex’s dedication to the business led him to take a brief hiatus in 2000 to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University in California. Since returning to BuildQuant Professional, he has leveraged his education and experience to take the company to new heights. Alex’s vision for BuildQuant Professional is to continue to provide the highest quality estimation services to its clients, while also expanding the company’s reach to new markets and industries.
